WHAT DO DENTURES DO?
Dentures replace missing teeth thus helping in chewing, speaking and facial appearance.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF DENTURES?
Dentures are of different types; they can be partial, replacing only a few missing teeth or complete replacing all the teeth in the jaw.
They can be removable, semi-fixed and fixed as well.
HOW ARE FIXED DENTURES GIVEN?
Fixed dentures are given with the help of dental implants.
REMOVABLE IMMEDIATE DENTURES
Normally a waiting time of about 4 to 6 weeks is needed after complete teeth removal before dentures can be made. Removable immediate dentures are pre-fabricated dentures that are given to people soon after or on the day of tooth removal. These dentures are temporary and might need some adjustments for proper fitting. It will need to be replaced by a permanent denture in about 6 months. Removable immediate dentures are useful especially for people who cannot take off from work etc.
FIXED IMMEDIATE DENTURES
In case of fixed immediate dentures, dental implants are placed soon after teeth removal and a fixed denture is made taking support from these dental implants immediately. Fixed immediate dentures are given within 2 to 3 days after teeth removal and implant placement.
